Plaza Level Cooling Tower
Enclosure

The design problem was to enclose three
2000 ton cooling towers in an architectural
enclosure that was modern yet compatible
with the existing 50 story building built in the
late 1960's. The solution was a 35' wide x
100' long x 35' high building with inverted
aluminum louvers on the long faces and
terracotta tiles of various sizes on the short
faces. The aluminum louvers step along the
South Street skewed property line.
